Congratulations Andrell Harris!

On March 5, 2015, Andrell Harris made history as youngest owner of Papa John’s franchise. His store is located in Natchez, MS.  HarrisAndrell Harris is an accomplished businessman, investor, philanthropist, and lover of Jackson State University.  Harris was very active as an undergraduate student at Jackson State University.  As president of the Student Government Association during the 2007-08 academic year, Harris successfully worked with the university’s administration to benefit students.  He made those accomplishments while also enlisted in the Mississippi Army National Guard as a private first class (E-3).  After earning a degree in finance in 2008, Harris was commissioned as a military intelligence officer in the United States Army Reserve.

Harris’ love for Jackson State University has led him to be a loyal contributor, giving each year since he graduated in 2008. Harris’ business acumen has made those contributions possible.  A Life Member of the JSU National Alumni Association, Harris was the platinum sponsor for the 2013 National Alumni Association Annual Conference in Tunica, MS. Harris currently serves on Jackson State University’s Development Board and in October 2013, the university announced Harris’ contribution of $55,555.55.  The number is significant because 2013 marks Harris’ fifth year since graduation.  The scholarship is endowed and will be a permanent part of Jackson State University, therefore benefitting its students for years to come.  Giving back to Jackson State University is something that Harris says he will always do. In fact, it is the tool by which he measures his own success.  “I judge my progress in life by how well I am able to bless others with what God has blessed me with,” says Harris.
