Advances in Business Research

The College of Business at Jackson State University cordially invites you,  your colleagues, and students to the Dr. J.R. Smith Research Symposium: Advances in Business Research Conference, taking place on March 20-21, 2024. We welcome original, high-quality submissions including articles, monographs, position papers, exploratory papers, and case studies that contribute to the advancement of business studies, particularly in light of recent global events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, international conflicts, and technological advancements shaping the business landscape. We encourage competitive papers and working papers, with the option for authors of selected papers to have either the abstract of the full paper published in symposium proceedings. Accepted papers will also be considered for publication in the Jackson State University Advances in Business Research Journal.

Participants will be able to share their research and receive feedback and promote their interdisciplinary research. Each presenter will have 25 minutes to present which includes presentation, discussion, and Q&A. The symposium will be presented both in person and virtually during concurrent morning and evening sessions.

Presentations will be judged and winners will receive awards for best article presentations in the following categories:

  1. Faculty Research Presentation
  2. Graduate Research Presentation
    1. MBA/MPA
    2. Ph.D.
  3. Undergraduate Research Presentation
