Kendra L. Preer, Ph.D

Span of responsibility: Responsible for the management, daily operations and oversight of the Stark State College Upward Bound Math-Science Program and staff; hiring and training of staff; establishing and maintaining a student data management system on participants; fiscal accountability of all program expenses; external and internal reporting, planning, marketing, coordination with other programs serving disadvantaged students; budgeting development and management; evaluation of Program; federal compliance; delivery of quality services to participants; and the development and implementation of the summer component.

How has the degree helped you in your career? The Executive Ph.D. program has certainly expanded my career and professional opportunities and introduced me to theory and practical knowledge useful in academia. Most importantly, the program has enhanced by research skills and allowed me to work with colleagues committed to higher education nationally and abroad. The program’s interdisciplinary approach to the study of urban higher education produces professionals with a broad perspective who are poised for senior leadership roles.
