Monica Lopez
Biography
Monica Lopez is an undergraduate student majoring in History at Jackson State University. Her research and work focus on decolonizing historical narratives and bringing forth the stories of those that have been intentionally left out. She will graduate Spring of 2027 and proceed to work towards her MA degree at Southern University at New Orleans in Museum Studies. She is currently working at the Margaret Walker Center as an ILMS undergraduate fellow and with the Scott Ford House as an ADHL student fellow. When she doesn’t have her head in the books or her voice and body in some form of advocacy and action, she enjoys dancing and tending to her many houseplants and German Shepherd.
