Mr. Christopher R. Roby defended his dissertation (title: Impact of Program Cost-Sharing on Medical Treatment Adherence for Persons Living With HIV/AIDS: Program Evaluation of Ryan White Part C Program ) on March 2, 2020. His dissertation analyzed impacts of cost-sharing mandate on medical treatment of HIV/AIDS in Mississippi. He found no statistical significance in viral load suppression and retention into care when it comes to cost-sharing. He found that stable housing is a significant factor in determining levels of viral suppression and retention into care. He argued that the deployment of team-based approaches are needed to overcome barriers to care including patient navigators, housing services, HIV primary medical care, and behavioral health providers. Professor Chester Robinson served as the dissertation adviser.

Congratulations, Dr. Roby!
