The School of Social Work – College of Public Service at Jackson State University will observe its 36th  Annual Social Work Month Celebration at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Mississippi e-Center, 1230 Raymond Road, Jackson, Mississippi. This year’s theme is “Forging Solutions Out of Challenges.”  Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

Social workers are advocates for equality, justice, and the overall well-being for vulnerable populations. In line with the theme of forging solutions out of challenges, speakers for the social work month celebration are: Devon Loggins, LCSW, CCTP, Chief Operations Officer, United Methodist Children's Homes of MS, and newly elected sheriff of Hinds County, Victor Mason.
