Jackson State University is committed to campus safety and security. Exterior lighting and landscape control is a critical part of that commitment. The Risk Manager along with representatives from various departments continually conduct safety surveys to ensure campus lighting is adequate and that the landscape is appropriately controlled. DPS officers conduct routine checks of lighting on campus during regularly assigned patrol duties. If lights are out or too dim, officers will initiate an immediate work order which is acted upon by the Department of Facilities and Construction Management.
