Students Continue Legacy of Activism
The COFO Civil Rights Education Center is proud to open its doors to student groups that engage in civil rights education, outreach, voting rights, and similar efforts, evoking the original organizing spirit that the Council of Federated Organizations embodied.
In some cases, these groups focus on community building, like the Tiger Transfers and Commuters that strive to create a sense of belonging for fellow JSU students while also mobilizing for other student organizations. In other cases, groups like JSU Votes meet to discuss ways to inspire political engagement and awareness across campus. We also frequently work with the JSU chapter of the NAACP.
