Mission of the Center for University-Based Development

Jackson State University – Center for University-Based Development (CUBD) serves as the community development arm of the University for the surrounding neighborhoods within a 1-mile radius of the main campus. The mission of the Center for University-Based Development (CUBD) is to revitalize the social, economic, and physical conditions of the surrounding neighborhoods in partnership with residents, business owners,  and faith-based and community organizations. CUBD is responsible for development activities off campus, including initiatives relating to Lynch Street/Parkway improvements, revitalization of blighted and historic properties, and management of external University owned  land parcels.  CUBD serves as an advocate, advisor, and catalyst for development and revitalization.
