Biography

Faculty member since 2021

Dr. Edith Davidson has served as Associate Professor of Marketing at Jackson State University since January 2021. In January 2024, she served as a Visiting Professor at New York University’s Stern School of Business as a Renwick Fellow. She previously served as Department Chair and Associate Professor at Central State University and held faculty positions at the University of Dayton and Auburn University.  Professor Davidson’s research lies at the intersection of marketing communication and social responsibility. She has examined topics such as alcohol advertising, stereotypes in media, and discrimination in retail environments, with work published in the Journal of Consumer Affairs, the Journal of Consumer Marketing, and Diversity in Marketing. Her more recent scholarship explores digital health equity and consumer adoption of wearable technology, with articles in Digital Health and AIMS Public Health.  She has received competitive funding from organizations including the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the USDA, and the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders to support initiatives addressing health disparities and expanding educational
opportunities.
