Our Computer Engineering program provides students with broad engineering knowledge that includes both the hardware and software aspects of computing devices. Jackson State University introduced a new program, Electrical Engineering, accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET. The program has three tracks: general electrical engineering, power systems, and biomedical engineering.
Message from the Chair
Welcome to the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science at Jackson State University. The department offers two undergraduate degrees and the Master of Science in Engineering. The two undergraduate programs,Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Engineering, are both accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET,http://www.abet.org.
Our Computer Engineering program provides students with broad engineering knowledge that includes both the hardware and software aspects of computing devices.
The Telecommunications Engineering program shares some courses with the Computer Engineering program and emphasizes the new trends in Communications such as wireless communications, digital communications, and social media.
At the graduate level we offer a Master of Science in Engineering with emphasis on computer engineering, computational engineering, electrical engineering, and telecommunications engineering.
Recently, we introduced a new undergraduate program, the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET. The program has three tracks: general electrical engineering, power systems, and biomedical engineering.
We are excited about the opportunities for students here in the metropolitan area of Jackson, Mississippi. The Electrical and Computer Engineering provides students with foundational knowledge of electrical engineering, with added emphasis on computer software and hardware. This degree is doubly accredited as an electrical engineering degree and a computer engineering degree, providing students with a breadth of skill and preparing them for many career options.
