Acdemic Overview

The Music and Cultural Arts: A Case Study for China study abroad program helps students develop intellectual and practical skills in applying theory to knowledge in teaching music to children. The program engages critical and creative thinking through an active process all while travelers are immersed in the Chinese culture. The 14 day program develops competencies in both written and oral communication by encouraging discourse creation, analysis, and communication modalities. The courses take an in-depth look at quantitative literacy by applying the basic data analysis methods to enhance informational literacy. Additionally, students develop a sense of personal and social responsibility through global and intercultural knowledge and competence while applying cross- cultural ethics that inform education and knowledge economy.

Program Over

The Music and Cultural Arts: A Case Study for China study abroad progam will be offered during Summer Intersession. The designed to enlighten students with the knowledge of human cultures as well as the physical and natural world through the study of music, art, dance, and other art forms including but not limited to music education, and art education. Through this study, students explore the historical, contemporary and enduring knowledge forms of China, and how these forms shape the educational, geopolitical, socio-economic and technological milieu of the people of the Republic of China.
