As we prepare for AY 26-27, Housing & Residence Life would like to share important dates and announcements related to next year’s housing options.
Important Housing Announcement:
Beginning Fall 2026, Walthall Lofts and The Courthouse will no longer be university-provided housing options for Jackson State University students.
The University will host an apartment meet-and-greet for students considering off-campus housing. Local apartment representatives will be invited to provide leasing information and answer questions. Additional details will be shared once finalized.
Important Housing Dates:
- AY 26-27 Housing Application Period: February 23–27, 2026
- AY 26-27 Housing Selection Period: March 16–21, 2026
- Summer 2026 Housing Application will open: March 16, 2026
Housing assignments are subject to availability and will be processed in the order the application is received.
Students needing accommodations should contact adaservices@jsums.edu by June 30, 2026. Room assignments based on approved accommodations are contingent upon space availability.
Eligibility Requirements:
All requirements must be completed by June 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
- Enrollment as a full-time student for Fall semester (12 credit hours (UG) / 9 credit hours (GR)
- Immunization clearance by JSU Health Center (healthservices@jsums.edu)
- Signed Housing Agreement for AY 26-27
- Active Fall 2026 payment plan
Students who fail to meet all eligibility requirements by the deadline will forfeit their housing assignment effective June 30, 2026. No exceptions will be granted.
