Industrial Technology Program Goals

The primary goal of the Industrial Technology Program is to produce highly proficient technologists capable of competing in the contemporary and global market. Graduates from the Industrial Technology Program will acquire skills that qualify them for managerial, supervisory, and other technical positions through interactive courses and laboratory experiences. The specific Program Goals are

 

  1. to deliver of broad-based technical programs that enable students to develop expertise in modern-day and advanced technologies,
  2. to prepare an adequate workforce to meet regional, state, and national demands for technology in industry, and
  3. to recruit and maintain quality faculty, curriculum content, modern lab equipment, and facilities to meet the standards set by appropriate accrediting agencies.

 

Computer Technology Concentration Mission

The mission of the Computer Technology concentration at Jackson State University is to produce well-trained graduates. The program continually adjusts its curriculum to address the constant changes in information technology and to assess the effectiveness of faculty teaching and student learning. The program recruits motivated and capable students. Faculty and staff members retain these students through excellent teaching, active academic advising, and social interaction among their peers and the faculty.

 

Electronic Systems Technology Concentration Mission

The Mission of the Electronic Systems Technology concentration is to provide a recognized and meaningful undergraduate educational program with an emphasis in electronic technology; and conduct professional development and other activities to meet the needs of the society, including both the private and public sectors.

 

Emergency Management Technology Concentration Mission

The Mission of the Emergency Management Technology Concentration is to equip students with the necessary skills and expertise in the field of Emergency Management and Disaster Preparedness and Response. Graduates will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the various aspects of Emergency Management, including mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Furthermore, they will gain the ability to perform assessments of hazardous risks. Graduates will also understand the managerial responsibilities involved in establishing frameworks that help communities minimize their vulnerability to hazards and effectively manage disaster situations.
