Patrice L. Jones, MS
Biography
I hold the title as the Administrative Assistant and Building manager for the Margaret Walker Center and COFO centers. I have been at Jackson State University since April 2021. It has opened many doors for me, met so many new people and embraced my history. I have the pleasure of working alongside a great team of colleagues. I hold my Bachelors Degree in Social Services, and Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from Belhaven University. I never had the opportunity to attend an HBCU, by working here has allowed me to experience the culture.
I wear many hats in my position, from planning to financial obligations. It brings joy to my heart to see so many in the community of the City of Jackson, surrounding towns, and out of state visitors that are willing to travel here to visit us, and learn about how civil rights activists worked so hard to get what we have today, which is our freedom. And not only that, but also learn about the late great Dr. Margaret Walker Alexander, who was a profound author and an English Professor for “Thee I Love” Jackson State University. I value what I do in my daily work. I am a God fearing mother of 4 beautiful children, Aden, Brooklin, Caiden and Daylen. They are my heart and all that I do, I do it for them.
