The Jackson State String Ensemble formed in  2004 is a select group of string players who maintain a high level of performance.  The Ensemble has performed numerous concert on the Jackson State University Campus in the Music Recital Hall .  The Ensemble's  most notable performances are,  The Presidential inaugural Celebration of Dr Meyers, and the Honor Society, "Alpha Lamda Delta" of Jackson State.

The String Ensemble most recently performed at  the Mississippi Children's Home and at Jackson State Recital Hall where they premiered "Blues Ship " by Alvin Batiste, for solo violin with Amy Thiaville ,professor of violin at Loyola University, and  "Kenyan Gloria ",  a piece written for the JSU String Ensemble by Dr. David  Akombo .

The Jackson State String Ensemble has performed on tour with Jackson State Orchestra in Nashville, TN and Chicago, IL.
