2025–2026 Teaching & Learning Workshops at JSU

Join Jackson State University’s Teaching & Learning Faculty Fellows for practical, hands-on sessions designed to strengthen inclusive pedagogy, AI-aware assignment design, student engagement, faculty well-being, and mentoring for scholarly impact.

All sessions will be recorded; videos, slides, and handouts will be posted here after each event.

Teaching & Learning Faculty Fellows Program

  • Faculty Excellence: Spotlights JSU educators advancing teaching excellence through innovative approaches and best practices.
  • Practical Workshops: Hands-on sessions focusing on pedagogy, AI-aware assignment design, engagement, and well-being.
  • Accessible Resources: All sessions recorded, with slides and handouts posted online for later use.

Fall 2025 Workshop Themes

  • AI & Writing / Digital Design: Explore how AI is transforming writing and how to create effective digital assignments using tools like Adobe Express.
  • Pedagogy & Student Engagement: Discover strategies for student co-creation, culturally relevant teaching, and engaging virtual learning design.
  • Faculty Well-Being: Learn practical approaches to sustain personal well-being while pursuing academic excellence.
  • Mentoring & Research: Develop skills for guiding students through scholarly work, from project design to manuscript submission.

Faculty Friends Program

Launching Fall 2025, Faculty Friends create small communities of practice for JSU educators to connect, share challenges, and develop solutions together.

Groups begin meeting the week of September 15 and are facilitated by Teaching & Learning Fellows. Sign-up details will be shared at the Kickoff Zoom and via campus email.
