Join us this summer for SOAR—Summer Opportunities for Advancement & Reflection—a series of hands-on, high-impact development workshops for JSU faculty. Whether you’re planning to revise a course, finish an article, prepare your dossier, or take a leadership role as a Faculty Teaching Fellow, SOAR offers the tools, support, and structure you need to meet your goals.

All sessions are free and open to full-time JSU faculty. Registration is required.

Weekly live and recorded sessions to help you reimagine a course using active learning, inclusive pedagogy, and/or AI tools.

✍️ Track 2: Article in Progress Writing Circle
Twice-weekly Zoom sessions for structured writing support, peer accountability, and manuscript progress.

📅 June 18, July 16, July 23
📁 Track 3: P&T Strategy Studio
Three virtual workshops to help faculty prepare personal statements, organize their materials, and (optionally) explore Canvas LMS dossier-building.

MALXD Sprint Workshop – May 29
Jackson State faculty are also invited to participate in the free MALXD (Master of Arts in Learning Experience Design) workshop hosted by Michigan State University. The May 29 session, Designing for Focus, will explore strategies to support student attention and engagement in digital learning environments.
