The Butterfly Society

The Women’s Council for Philanthropy (WCP) works to change the face of philanthropy by encouraging individuals from diverse backgrounds to see themselves as philanthropists through leadership, scholarship and mentorship. To achieve our mission requires engaging and educating others about philanthropy.

Since 2007, the Women’s Council has mentored nearly 100 JSU students. WCP fulfills its mission by teaching students about the importance of philanthropy, and supporting students’ career development and leadership skills, thereby enhancing their educational experiences. The Council members support students with academic and career advice, assist with providing financial support, and mentors students through WCP-sponsored special events and one-on-one discussions.
