  • Coastal restoration using native and introduced grass and other plant species
  • Phytoremediation/bioremediation
  • Phenology of plants with anti-cancerous attributes
  • Gas exchange studies of plants in response to environmental stresses (e.g., metal toxicity, drought) and elevated CO2 environments,
  • Renewable energy-biofuels
  • Plant-soil-microbe interactions
