The Community Service committee encourages and facilitates active participation by staff members in volunteer activities on campus and throughout the Jackson State community.

CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS
The Constitution committee shall accept proposed changes to the Bylaws, study the proposals, and prepare a recommendation to the Senate in accordance with Article IX of these Bylaws. Additional issues for the committee may include inquiries regarding the archives, legal, or other related issues directed by the Chair of the Staff Senate and the Executive Committee.

COURTESY
The Courtesy Committee shall handle the arrangements and/or notification necessary of the Senate’s customary observance or acknowledgments of a personal nature. All senators receiving news of illness, hospitalization, death, etc., shall immediately notify the Chairman of the Courtesy Committee who will, in turn, disseminate the information through her Committee to the Senate.

EVENTS
The duties of the committee shall be to plan and coordinate activities at which University employees can meet their senators and learn about Senate activities.
