What Is JSU SAFE?

JSU SAFE is the official safety app of Jackson State University. It is the only app that integrates with JSU’s safety and security systems. Campus Police has worked to develop a unique app that provides students, faculty and staff with added safety on the JSU campus. The app will send you important safety alerts and provide instant access to campus safety resources.

 

The JSU Safe App’s Features Include:

  • Friend Walk: Users can share their real-time location to a friend so he or she can watch as the friend walks to a particular destination. The app allows a friend to trigger a call to emergency services, if necessary.
  • Virtual Walkhome: This function allows individuals to Inform campus police where they’re traveling so officers can keep an eye on them, if necessary. As well, this selection uses location services on the mobile phone and can activate a 911 call on the cell phone, too.
  • Panic Button/Mobile BlueLight: Much like Walkhome, the BlueLight feature lets users send their location to campus police so they can be monitored on their walk. Simply tap the button, and the information goes straight to campus police.
  • Emergency Contact: Contact the correct services for the JSU area in case of an emergency or a non-emergency concern.
  • Tip Reporting: Multiple ways to report a safety/security concern directly to JSU security..
  • Chat With Campus Police: Communicate live with safety staff at JSU via chat.
