Yolanda R. Owens is the interim vice president for Jackson State University’s Institutional Advancement. In this role, she is responsible for building and leading a comprehensive advancement program with specific emphasis on annual giving, major giving, planned giving, advancement services, alumni and constituent relations, community engagement and special events. She also serves as Executive Director and manages the day-to-day operations of the JSU Development Foundation.

With over 20 years of corporate and volunteer experience, Owens previously served as senior contract administrator with Kinder Morgan where she managed all aspects of vendor contracts for pipeline and facilities construction. Additionally, as past president of the JSU National Alumni Association, she led a national board of 35 professionals, earned 501c3 nonprofit status, increased alumni giving by 65%, spearheaded a national rebranding campaign and generated nearly $800,000 in endowments from alumni chapters.
