Course Redesign Lab:
Teaching for Engagement in the AI Era
Program Overview
The Course Redesign Lab offers faculty a focused opportunity to update a course or major unit using active learning strategies, inclusive pedagogy, and emerging AI tools. Collaborate with peers, explore new teaching methods, and create a revitalized course plan ready for fall.
What You’ll Do:
- Participate in one live Zoom workshop each week in July (plus optional recorded sessions)
- Engage with examples of active learning, inclusive teaching, and AI-supported pedagogy
- Develop one fully revised syllabus or major assignment with feedback

- Optional opportunity to showcase your redesign during the Fall Faculty Seminar

We are currently developing a Faculty AI Literacy Hub to support JSU instructors in exploring and implementing AI tools in thoughtful, ethical, and impactful ways.
- Use the Hub as a supplementary resource during your redesign
- Share tools, activities, or assignments you’ve tested
- Provide feedback on the layout, focus, and utility of the Hub
