Notice of CEPH Accreditation Review and Opportunity for Third-Party Comments
Jackson State University’s College of Health Sciences is scheduled to undergo a review
for accreditation by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).
As part of the accreditation process, CEPH accepts written third-party comments from
students, alumni, faculty, staff, employers, community partners, and other stakeholders.
This is an opportunity for anyone interested in the program to submit written comments
directly to CEPH.
All comments must be sent directly to CEPH at the following address:
submissions@ceph.org
Comments must be received by CEPH no later than 30 calendar days prior to the
scheduled site visit, January 26, 2026.
CEPH will not share these comments with the school or program, and the institution will
not see or be informed of the identity of the commenters.
We encourage all interested parties to participate in this important process.
Accreditation
Jackson State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
The College of Health Sciences is also accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) which accredits Public Health Programs and Schools of Public Health nationally. Based on deficiencies reflected in the accreditation report, the Council acted to confer probationary accreditation through July 1, 2026.
We remain committed to satisfying all of the CEPH requirements and will be undergoing another review before July 1, 2026. To guarantee graduation from an accredited school, students must graduate by July 1, 2026. For additional information, you can download the letter from [Student Notification of Accreditation Status].
The Communicative Disorders Master of Science degree program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).
The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) degree programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
