JSU CYBER AWARENESS

WHAT IS CYBER AWARENESS MONTH?

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a global effort to help everyone stay safe and protected when using technology whenever and however you connect. Jackson State University is proud to be a Champion and support this online safety and education initiative this October as part of its ongoing efforts to address the increasing threats to the security of our information systems and data.

This month is all about promoting key behaviors to encourage every employee and members of the JSU community to create a safe and secure digital world for themselves and our world. There are all kinds of ways to stay safe and secure online but even just practicing these cybersecurity basics can make a huge difference:

            • Enable Multi-Factor Authentication
            • Use Strong Passwords and a Password Manager
            • Update Your Software
            • Recognize and Report Phishing

The cybersecurity and digital privacy of our employees’ and students’ personal data and information is important to Jackson State University. Throughout the month of October, JSU will provide employees with several trainings (Insider Threats, Cyber Awareness) Free Webinars, in addition to tip sheets, and phishing exercises to provide guidance on how to #Secure Our World and stay safe and protected online.
