Dr. James Broussard
Background and Research Interests: Dr. Broussard’s work involves theoretical and applied efforts to expand the use of technology within behavioral health. His research examines methods that increase access to effective behavioral health interventions for underserved populations (minority, low-income, and rural communities). Dr. Broussard also advocates for the use of experiential learning methods in mHealth and other digital interventions with an emphasis on treating addictive disorders including behavioral addictions (e.g., gambling disorder).

Donovan Taylor, B.S.
Lead Graduate Research Assistant
Background and Research Interests: Donovan is completing his third year as a student in the Clinical Psychology program at Jackson State University. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Howard University where he served as a research assistant in Dr. Jules Harrell’s Psychophysiology lab and Dr. Ezer Kang’s Global Community Health lab. His research interests include ADHD within minority populations, African American men’s mental health, posttraumatic stress within minority populations, and suicide prevention.

Elise Iglinsky, B.A.
Graduate Research Assistant / Lead of Undergraduate Research Program
Background and Research Interests: Elise is completing her first year as a student in the Clinical Psychology PhD program at Jackson State University. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Mississippi, where she was a research assistant in the Laboratory for Memory and Cognition. She has been pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), where she was a graduate research assistant in the Translational, Experimental, and Applied Behavior Analysis Lab. Her thesis at MTSU is titled “Noradrenergic Effects of Spreading Activation in Lexical and Semantic Memory Networks.” Her specific research interests include addictive behaviors, human memory, severe psychopathology in underserved populations, and the integration of technology and behavioral health care.

Undergraduate Students
Courtney Brammer
Background and Research Interests: Courtney Brammer is a senior studying Psychology. She joined the lab in October 2024 and is currently assisting with research on eye-tracking. She is a member of the Sonic Boom of the South, Psi Chi, Tau Beta Sigma, and Alpha Phi Omega. She intends to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology or Neuropsychology in the near future, with research interests in the cognitive development of adolescents and young adults.
Jordyn Petty
Background and Research Interests: Jordyn Petty is a senior Psychology major from Southaven, MS. She joined the lab in January 2021 and is currently assisting with research on eye tracking. Jordyn is a transfer student from Hinds Community College where she graduated a semester early. She is a member of the Jackson State Cross Country team as well as a community assistant. She intends to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology in the near future after obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in the fall of 2025. Her current research interests are in forensic and adolescent psychology.
