The Underserved Populations Research Integrating Technology and Experience (UPRITE) Lab at Jackson State University (JSU) is housed within the Department of Psychology. Our mission is to expand the use of technology within behavioral health through the use of novel research methods and cutting-edge digital applications. Our applications take advantage of experiential learning methods that can be accessed by users on PCs, smartphones, and other digital health platforms. The main purpose of these efforts is to assist individuals within underserved populations (minority, low-income, and rural communities) to access low-cost and effective behavioral health interventions using technology. Our ultimate goal is to make a difference in people’s lives by blending innovations in technology with clinical science.
