More than half of all college students in the U.S. are first-generation (source), and with that number slated to increase in the years to come, adequate support services are imperative. That’s where we need you! Help us support first-generation college students at JSU by giving to the First-Generation Scholars Program. Your donations will not only provide needed resources but will also dismantle systematic barriers to first-generation student success.
A first generation college student is identified as, an individual neither of whose natural or adoptive parents received a baccalaureate degree; or a student who, prior to the age of 18, regularly resided with and received support from only one natural or adoptive parent and whose supporting parent did not receive a baccalaureate degree.
