Welcome to Jackson State University’s International Programs Office (IPO). As the University moves forward with its mission of producing technologically-advanced, diverse, ethical, global leaders who think critically, address societal problems and compete effectively, IPO plays a significant role of internationalizing Mississippi’s Urban University.
Founded in 1877, Jackson State has a particular sensitivity to social, economic and environmental dimensons of societal development. IPO administers a number of programs for both students and the community, that assists in the globalization of JSU, Jackson and Mississippi.
Located on a scenic 200 plus acres and 5 campuses across the Metro Jackson area, JSU offers 44 bachelor degree programs and 50 graduate degree programs. Additionally, IPO operates the only international visitor’s center in Mississippi, as well as offers English as a Second Language courses, translation services and study abroad opportunities for students.
