Environmental Health and Safety


Jackson State University is in support of the IHL Risk Management Annual Building Inspection Report for Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning which is in support of State Fire Marshal's responsibility. This is to ensure that all university buildings are in complainance with the Mississippi Fire Prevention Code and Mississippi Code of 1972, Annotated, Sections 45-11-101 through 45-11-111. The Division of Facilities & Construction Management has on staff a Director of Environmental Health & Safety in charge of implementing and enforcing compliance applicable environment, health and safety regulations.

We, The Jackson State University family, will not accept anything less than the safety of its Students, Faculty, Staff and Guests.

It is the responsibility of all University personnel and students to report unsatisfactory safety conditions to the Division of Facilities and Construction Management.
