The area of Instructional Technology supports faculty in incorporating technology in the instruction. The following systems or software are available to faculty:

Blackboard Learn 9.1 Learning Management System (LMS)

Blackboard Learn 9.1 enables faculty to manage an online teaching and learning environment. Blackboard suite of tools can be used to supplement traditional instruction or to deliver complete online courses. Some additional resources available to faculty, staff, and students in Blackboard are the following:

Respondus 4.0

Respondus a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Blackboard.  Exams can be created offline using or moved from one LMS to another. Whether you are a veteran of online testing or relatively new to it, Respondus will save you hours on each project.

Academic IT Listservs

AIT provides support for four instructional technology Listservs: Blackboard, iTunesU, OIM-AIT-Faculty, and iPad_discussion. The purpose of the Listserv is to provide a means for faculty and staff who have an interest in topics such as: online teaching, technology education, technology in the classroom, instructional technology and other related topics to share information, resources, and related information. JSU faculty and staff may subscrible to a Listserv by clicking on the email links below. Enter the following information in the subject and body of the email:

  • Subject– Type the word "Subscribe"
  • Body– Type the word Subscribe, "Name of Listserv" (Example "subscribe Blackboard), your name, and  JNumber. Press Send.
  • AIT Listserv will get the email and add you as a member.
