The Richard Wright Center for Writing, Rhetoric, and Research

Writing For Publication

At JSU, we all write and all writers need feedback, including those who write for publication. In the Richard Wright Center, you have an opportunity to receive feedback from interested and supportive colleagues.

What We Offer
Individual Consultations

We’ll meet face-to-face or online to read your article draft together and discuss any writing concerns.

12-Week Summer Writing Group

The group runs May through August. You will receive weekly email assignments that will guide you in developing your idea into an article ready for submission. You may also request feedback from the group facilitators.

The weekly assignments are based on a program developed by Wendy Laura Belcher, Professor of African Literature at Princeton University. You may meet Dr. Belcher here and also visit the Writing Advice page on her website.

Send Us a Request

To request an individual consultation or to be added to the summer writing group, please email Dr. Wonderful Faison, wonderful.faison@jsums.edu, and Dr. Tatiana Glushko, tatiana.glushko@jsums.edu
